My life as a 10 year old.

In 1967, I was ten years old. It was the best, but for a lot of people reading this (depending on how old you are), it will appear incredibly bizarre, almost surreal. It was a time missing so many important elements from today’s world, but a great time it was.

For example…..are you ready for this?
  • The Toronto Maple Leafs won The Stanley Cup. (that's right - look it up)
  • Tim Horton was a hockey player.
  • Bobby Orr won his first of 8 consecutive Norris Trophies (wow)
  • Paul and Gary Gait were born (for my lacrosse buddies)
  • Pamela Anderson was born (no comment)
  • Sean Burke and Curtis Joseph were born (good year for goalies)
  • GO Transit was born
  • Expo 67 in Montreal (i went to that)
  • Beatles release Magical Mystery Tour
Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1967_in_Canada for more fun facts of 1967.

It was a great time to be 10 years old. Life was simple. Life was great.

My Story.

In My first blog, I made a decision to actually not blog, but rather to tell you a story. I want people to understand a little about me and maybe to have a little insight on how my mind works. Those that know me, know that this might be a complex task. Therefore, intstead of covering my entire lifetime of experiences, all the good and (not so good) decisions, I thought intead I might give you a glimpse as to where it all started. That is why I have picked the year of 1967 to start. I was 10 years old, and some of the stories I will tell you may be when I was 12 or 13, but for the most part I will focus on the age of 10. I think that this is a critical age when you are growing up, and your personality has now started to take shape, and that who you are in the future as a person is really starting to unfold. I will run this story for a couple of weeks, and then begin to share my opinions on various topics, sports and otherwise.

Mike's Blog

Welcome to the Pass It On Sports Blog page. I do not profess to be a professional blogger - I am certainly not a writer. However, I am a passionate person, a passionate sports person, and I do have opinions...and judging from the blogs that I have read, opinions = blogging. I do not have any rules in my blogs yet. I eventually want to have a daily blog, we will see how it goes, for now, I will blog and update as much as possible. I welcome your comments and additions to any blogs that i write. To be fair I will let you know that I am in the over 50 club, so when you read my opinions, that might help to understand what generation I am coming from. I would like to keep this blog spirited, but not mean, I don't see the point in that. I am a positive person by nature, but I am extremely passionate about my beliefs in certain areas of life, and I am sure some of this will come to light, in this forum.  Thanks for visiting. Visit often.
