The Tall Ships

It was just another weekend. Or maybe not.

I was lucky enough this Sunday to be invited to The Toronto Waterfront to watch the Tall Ships sail by....sponsored by Redpath Sugars. It was a spectacular event.

We had VIP passes to The Sound Academy, which is located right on the water in Toronto.
Wow, what a view from there.

The action on the water is nothing short of amazing. There are sailboards, kayaks and sailboats. There were fishing boats and powerboats. Ferries running people back and forth (from somewhere) - Cruise ships, and Luxury Pleasure boats. Everything that floats....was on the water on this beautiful day.
There was even a Fire Boat.

But we were here for the Tall Ships.
They paraded by, one after the other, all with the sails up. Quite a breathtaking experience. And look at that view.

Oh....and then there was the action off the water. Right beside us was a brand new, I am going to say "Bar". It was like something out of a movie set. It is called the Cabana Pool Bar. I would attach a link to the website...but this is a family blog...you can google it. Here is an overhead of the space.

This place was insane....but cool to see.

Oh, One last thing for an eventful weekend. Patti's lovely girls, Jessica and Tristen gave us a little "gift".

                                                    Meet Exeter.

Sheesh, I guess I know what I am doing for the next 12 years or so.

Father's Day Weekend

Another Father's Day has come and gone and what a great weekend it was.....another of the many reasons I love Burlington.

Saturday morning we woke up to a beautiful morning and our decision was easy.
We fired up the PassItOnSportsmobile and went kayaking.

We went down and dropped the kayaks in Lasalle Park. It was beautiful down there, the power boats, sailboats and gorgeous views.

                                                                  My Dream.....
(I am talking about the girl of course...not the big house and the two float planes in the background)

It was a beautiful day on the water....great to get out on the water.  Here is the great thing. Cost $0.00.

Me and Patti - on dry land again.

Next in the weekend lineup was The Burlington Sound of Music. An incredible free music event held every year in the city.

                                               Doc Walker performs Saturday night.

On Sunday, my niece Olivia, Patti, me and my daughter Aimee...getting ready for April Wine.

The cost of this event. $0.00.

Sunday night, I had a beautiful steak dinner at home....and watched some U.S. Open Golf.
(something my Dad loved to do)

England's Justin Rose won the U.S. Open.

All in all. Happy Fathers Day...to me. (and thanks to everyone who was a part of it)

MOB Lacrosse Record

SO here it is.........8 games into the MOB season. Halfway point. Already there is a brand new record. Black Storm.....(my team) has set a new record....actually....set it a few games ago,

The season is 8 games old....and our Black Team.... 0 wins.   8 losses.     0 and 8. Brutal.

We can't seem to get into the right groove. Good thing is....we will make the playoffs. But then again....all teams do.

It is not whether you win, or lose.....it is all about the fun. That is what my Mom has always told me.
And....we are all having fun, I think. Ha.!

Jonny and Randy Pilon....preparing for game time. (photo bombed by Bobby Simpson)

Trust me when I say this....we are having fun. It is actually an interesting commentary, this league. There are a lot of guys that really take it seriously....and some guys that really don't care, and a lot in between.

Me, Tippy and Don (my bro's!) truly what it is about for me.

My brothers and I looked good (before the game started.) - but it went a tad downhill on this night. Up 2 - 0 early - WE LOST 8 - 4.   Damn.

However there was a highlight to this night. The BIG race. Trying to find the "fastest" guy in the league we pitted our (Black Storm) Jay Da Silva vs. speedster (Red Heat) Kyle Johnston.

Between the 2nd and 3rd period we had the Big Race....the two speedy guys set up at the goal line at one end. They would race to the Blue line at the far end. I have Video evidence thanks to my daughter Erin.

YOU BE THE JUDGE.

Tell me who you think wins this race. Kyle on the left and Jay on the right. Pick the winner.

Next week is another week. Black will win. (I think)
