Led by a names from Mississauga days gone by....Cort Sanderson, Dave Pascutto, the Tavares boys....and combined with the unbeatable wall known as Ron Larose.....it was a Golden night in Oakville.
Black tied the game at 1, and that was the end. As a gesture of friendship from the Dimarco girls (our scorers) - they had a look at the downtrodden Black bench, and stopped putting the score up...it was even to painful for them to watch....at that point it was 9 - 2...but the onslaught was far from over....the real final score was a mystery.
Congratulations to all on Gold Rush for a tremendous finish to their season - they players hard - as a team - and won the Campbell Cup.
Cort also had the best fan support (if you are talking volume...thanks Sue, Sammy and Jordan)
In the Consolation Game - Blue Thunder defeated Red Heat to finish in 3rd place.
We would all like to thank Keith Kennedy and Cort Sanderson for a great year. See you in 2012!!
