THUNDER BAY INVITATIONAL

Well so far for Stu and I it has been uneventful, middle of the pack, kissing your sister kind of golf. Day 1 was Friday and it was best ball, so you play your own ball and at the end of the hole you take the best score of the two players. The problem for Stu and I was that if I took a 4 or 5 he would do the same...and on one great hole I scored the wonderful 8 that we all love on the card...so time for my partner to step up...you guessed it..he scored an 8 as well. Not good team golf. We are in the fifth flight and the low score was an 80 and the high was a 96, we shot an 89. Unimpressive, middle of the road boring. Frustrating. Tiring.

Day 2 - scramble format. You both tee off and go to the best shot, and take your second shot from there, and so until you putt out. 8am tee off - beautiful day. We felt good. However we got off to another slow start, could not get it going. We were golfing ok, but in this format, you need birdies and pars. We were 5 over par, after 10 holes, that is the bad news, the good news, we were starting to groove our swing a little better, and we were on a bit of a roll. The last 8 holes, we finished with par, not bad, our score was a 77. We even moved up the leader board, and tomorrow with the alternate shot format, if we go "lights out" we could maybe get into the top 5 in our flight, that would be great.

The weather is beautiful, the golf course spectacular, and we have met some great guys, and have done a lot of laughing.

Golfing with my son, is so great, this is what passitonsports.ca is all about.

Btw I just saw Adam Scott (a pro golfer who won last week) miss a 3 foot putt and then missed a 2 foot putt coming back. Somehow I suddenly feel better about my game (ha).
