Your Feel Good Sports Story

Updates - I am behind.

I have been a little late on some things....and I wanted to share my twisted opinion them.

  • My U-19 girls in Provincials. They were in tough. We played all year in the C division, finished in second place - best record ever - and the league then bumped them to the B Division for Provincials....they played hard but lost to Oshawa and Mississauga(two lacrosse hotbeds) and were eliminated. I know Jessica, Tristen and all the girls were disappointed, but they shouldn't be. In team sports, the goal should always be to "work hard" and "get better" and this was accomplished in Owen Sound U19 Women's Lacrosse Big Time!! - And good on you!
  • Hockey - year round. - FYI - I am totally against it....too much hockey. I think even players at the AAA level need a break. My nephews team basically goes year round - it is too much. Let them play lacrosse or soccer, or something, but let them off the ice man!! It is too much. Other sports help create different skill sets and helps improve eye hand coordination. Great hockey players like Wayne Greztky, Paul Coffey, Brendon Shanahan and Joe Nieuwendyk all played lacrosse. Case closed.
  • Tiger Woods and former caddie Steve Williams. - You know the story. Tiger "let" Steve go a couple of weeks ago. He was hired by Australian Adam Scott. They were entering the tournament at the Firestone Golf and Country Club in Akron Ohio. A golf course that Tiger has won 7 times in his career.....SEVEN TIMES - That is phenomenal. Now don't forget that his caddie Steve Williams was there carrying the Golf Bag for Tiger all seven times. - Well what a story...because as I am sure you know, Tiger did not have a good tournament. Adam Scott, along with his new caddie Steve Williams......he won!! $1,400,000. That is number 8 for Steve at Firestone, and for me a remarkable story...and certainly lends a lot of credibility to the value of a good caddie. and on another note....the PGA Championship was this weekend, Tiger missed the cut...Adam Scott finished 7th and picked up another $259,000. Not bad for a weekend.
Adam Scott
