On The Floor
In the Junior Masters division fans were treated to a great game between Toronto and Whitby, a game eventually won by by the Whitby squad 9 - 7.
On the Senior side a couple of great Masters Lacrosse teams faced off and the fans were not disappointed. Brampton outlasted the boys from Six Nations, eventually winning 7 - 5.
Congratulations to all the teams on a job well done!! (over the next couple of days, additional photos will be uploaded to the passitonsports.ca MastersLAX Provincials 2011 photo gallery).
Off The Floor
An outstanding job by The Oakville Senior Masters for running an amazing Provincials. With many last minute changes that were made last week in room availability etc. The Oakville Team put on a great show. What an amazing lunch on Saturday. It was smoked pulled pork that Brad Sanderson of Sheridan Specialties http://www.sheridan.ca/ cooked up. You might also know Brad from (in my humble opinion) is the best Goalie ever. http://www.passitonsports.ca/apps/account/readstory.php?sid=67
The prize tables were great, and congratulations to all the winners.
For those of you that have organized and run a tournament, you know how much work is involved.
So many people contributed to making this weekend a success....and I am not naming them all here.
But sometimes special mention is necessary.
Bill Sanderson (father of Brad and Cort of Oakville) is somewhat of a tournament organizing expert...and he is a great lacrosse personality. He has watched a million (I rounded up) lacrosse games....he is a volunteer that happily greeted all the players and teams on Friday night in River Oaks, from 5:30 to midnight (actually later than that) - and then he was back there by 8am on Saturday morning...doing more of the same. This is not a glamorous job, but it is an important one. Thanks again Bill!!
Brad, Bill and Cort Sanderson.
There were three ladies that have seen a lot (I would say a million) lacrosse games....but it is their tireless ability to volunteer their time and their smiling faces, year in and year out.......it simply cannot go without a huge Oakvlle Thank You!!
I personally had a crew helping passitonsports.ca cover the tournament. I owe a huge passitonsports thankyou to Bob and Daughter Kira Simpson.
One final thankyou. Patti Cruickshank, I could not do it without you. Thank You.
Patti, hard at work. (thanks)
There are so many others to thank...but that is it for tonight.
I appreciated all the positive comments about passitonsports.ca this weekend.
I now would like to ask a big favour. I want to share Your Feel Good Sports Story. Go to www.passitonsports.ca and become a member. Then it is your turn to share a story, something that makes you feel good, or makes someone else feel good.
Trust me, it works.
